We’re keen at BKKLIT to show that Thai writing, as an art form, isn’t happening in a vacuum but feeds off, and contributes to, other artistic disciplines. I was introduced today to the work of Manita Songserm who encapsulates some of these ideas. Graphic designer / artist / illustrator, her work is stunning. Treat yourself to a look at Manita’s website.
BKKLIT is a literature and arts journal, in print and online, featuring Thai prose and poetry in translation. It was formed in June 2018 (after many years of thinking about it) to help bring contemporary Thai literature to an international readership.
BKKLIT is committed to publishing the best of contemporary Thai writing in a beautifully made print magazine illustrated by contemporary illustrators and artists from Thailand.
Our aim, in the long term, is to create a dynamic literary community to help Thai writers and translators bridge the gap between Thailand and the international literary world.
